I live in the DC Metro area where life-coaching isn't as "normal" as I imagine it to be on the west coast, and I will admit that I had my prejudices about coaching. However, at a very difficult time in my life, when I felt lower than I can ever remember feeling, I found myself discouraged by therapy and it's practice of looking into the past to figure out "what went wrong". I wanted to talk to someone about how to get through right now, and tomorrow, and the day after that. I reached out to Claire who was the same warm, intelligent, kind and funny spirit that I remembered from when I met her as a tween, and I have been grateful every day since then that I did.
Claire isn't about validation or indulgence, or telling you you're always right - she's about challenging you to get clear on your values, put yourself first and be kind to yourself through the difficult process of balancing a full life. I love coaching with her because she doesn't give me the answers, or tell me what to do-- she helps me ask myself the right questions, and helps me be honest with myself, so that I can arrive at what I already know to be MY truth. I can't say enough good things about coaching, and the moment you make the choice to make this kind of investment in yourself, you've already taken a tremendous step toward greater self-compassion and understanding. Doesn't everyone deserve that? Thanks, Claire, for doing what you do.
